About me, My mother got me started on my love for cooking. I am a self taught chef and pit master. In 2012 I was diagnosed with a rare form of GI cancer in my stomach and liver which in my eyes was a blessing because it has afforded me the time to pursue my passion for cooking, this is how I arrived at this point, starting Sonoma County BBQ. It is stable now with the daily dose of chemotherapy I take. Before this I have worked in the water well industry for 41 years and have co-owned and operated a water well business with my father since 1990. I also co-own a pet grooming and pet supply store with my wife Debbie, this place is Debbie’s Pet Boutique in Windsor and in 2015 we opened our second location in Healdsburg. I am now semi retired from the water well industry and this affords me the time to do the BBQing. I have always loved cooking for family and friends. I have been passionate about BBQ for as long as I can remember. I have completed classes in Competition BBQ. I am a member of the Kansas City BBQ Society. I am a certified Kansas City BBQ judge and a certified Table Captain. I am a member of the California BBQ Association as well.

Sonoma County BBQ always uses the highest quality meats, poultry and ingredients. We try to source all of our fresh ingredients from local Farmers Markets & a Natural Foods Market in Cloverdale, Dahlia & Sage . Our BBQ will excite your senses!
